Why Eat Fast Food When You Could Be Eating Healthy

Everyone loves to eat out sometimes. There is always those days when you don’t feel like cooking or you’re in a hurry and need a fast meal. Did you know that a majority of the world is considered obese? The reason is simple; fast food. Too many people are getting lazy and just ordering out or stopping at McDonalds. I want to give you some information on the foods that you may eat at these fast food restaurants. If you are not trying to gain weight or you are eating on a normal 2,000 calories a day then fast food is not the way to go.

Let’s focus on McDonalds for a minute. Every time I go there I order off the dollar menu and I get two chicken sandwiches and a small fry. In each one of those sandwiches there are 550 calories and there is 210 calories in the small fry. All together that makes over 1,000 calories just in one measly meal. That’s half of what you’re supposed to eat all day. That’s crazy but true.

Let’s say it’s Friday and you want to order a pizza. If you order Pizza Hut’s stuffed crust pepperoni lovers pizza, it contains 525 calories and most of that is fat. Pizza isn’t as bad or as high in calories as something from McDonalds or Burger King but it’s still high. To top it all off, these fast food places are very unhealthy. If you take your kids to McDonalds or order a pizza once a week you are taking life away from your kids. Why would any parents want to shorten their kid’s life? They don’t, it’s just that people are getting too lazy.

Another Reason that fast food places aren’t the best is because they are getting more and more expensive. If you have a family of five, there is a possibility of spending a good chunk of money. If you would just have went to the grocery store you could have bought two meals for what you spend on one meal at a fast food restaurant. Maybe saving money is a goal that you have for the following year; you can start by making fewer trips to any fast food restaurants. The food you get from the fast food restaurants are handled by many employees and who knows what kind of person has messed with your food before actually giving it to you. It’s not worth spending your money on food that someone could have easily spit in or dropped it on the floor. My wife use to work at a fast food place and they had the three second rule. If they dropped food they had three seconds to pick it back up but today you have so many young folks working in fast food places and the younger generations are worse then ever before.

I’m not trying to convince anyone to stop eating out because it is very helpful if you are running late and don’t have time to cook something. What I am trying to point out is that fast food places are very unhealthy and cause obesity and sometimes diabetes, so take fewer trips to McDonalds and more trips to your local grocery store and you will be eating healthier and saving money. The healthier you eat the better you feel about yourself.
