While doing a coop at a local employer, for credit at the state university, it was my job to use the heat chamber. I opened the door one time and got a toxic gas exposure that affects the brain and the ability to think, cyanide something and a few other chemicals. It was from foam someone else added when I was not there. I was the walking wounded with no exterior wounds just chemicals in the brain and body slowly they taking affect.
Poisoned while doing a coop, my boss sends me to the universities clinic, which says your ok, go back to work, but have hard time concentrating. Coworkers and family I see and tell don’t know to help. I see another doctor at church who says, “if you are not dead yet you should survive, take this for your diarrhea.” The fire firer at church says, “we wear masks and take oxygen for smoke.” On Saturday I continue to have diarrhea and my head and guts hurt. Next Monday at work I find doctor on my own who says why were you not in here last week? That Tuesday the doctor I found takes me off work for the rest of week. School says we are not legally liable. The employer’s insurance stopped paying for treatments. The VP of my division tells me there is nothing he will do no blood work, evidence . Employment compensation courts cannot force employer to pay, no lawyer would take it up after that. I also lost my school grant… paid my own leftover medical bill, but still have school loans, etc.
More goes into your health than paying someone else money. Accidents happen, heredity weaknesses exist. Professionals are not perfect. People don’t know, want to get involved, or would just like to ignore some things. They walk over the dead and dying so the walking wounded are easier to ignore.
Never do anything at work that is not related to your work, document everything, take care yourself and others. There are some doors you don’t want to open.
Some people really are your friends, and care, and are helpful, for them I am very grateful.
Take care and pray only God works miracles.
