Healthy Food Recipe: Eating Healthy Does Taste Good!

My favorite healthy foods are made with soy beans but you would never know it…

By far one of my first and foremost choices of a quick healthy meal is a Veggie burger product made by Morningstar Farms, available in most frozen food sections of your grocery store…they make many varieties, one is a Black Bean another, made with Basil but my favorite is called the Grillers Original, which is the same one we used to serve in our Health food restaurant and a favorite of many of our customers as well..

The package consists of 4 burgers, two in each cellaphane wrapper to keep them freshly frozen until you use them…

It is so easy to prepare a burger with no mess or fuss, you don’t even have to thaw it…just put one patty between two pieces of bread…personally I like to use Pita bread..I put the burger in the Pita, then cover with fresh mushrooms and one or two slices of Munster cheese…You can use any cheese you like with or without the mushrooms, my husband prefers Swiss cheese..you can also use onions if you like, raw or cooked…

Assemble all your preferred ingredients inside the bread, then microwave for 2 minutes ….The cheese just melts down on everything and it is really a delicious way to get your healthy protein in a very healthy and scrumptious manner…our customers loved these burgers, even the meat eaters! We always had multiple options of cheeses for whatever combinations desired.

Serve with lettuce and tomato, or pickle slices, it’s all up to you and your taste buds.

There is another recipe on the box to make an Italian style burger, just put the patty on a piece of crusty bread, add some chopped tomatoes, fresh Basel leaves and either parmesan or mozzarella cheese. Microwave for about 2 minutes, then add a bit of Olive oil and Balsamic Vinegar…this is truly a different and wonderful tasting alternative to using meat…

These burgers lend themselves to so many delicious toppings and flavors there is no end to how creative you can get with them…

With each serving you get 15 grams of protein from the soy which is so healthful in many ways… 6 grams of fat, no trans fat, no cholesterol, and 260 mg of sodium… Carbohydrates weigh in at only 5 grams so these burgers are great for any diet..

Eat to be healthy, that’s always been my motto…

Enjoy and Bon Appitit
